Sing ‘Rock a Bye Baby’ as a lullaby and then ask the children to sing the same song loudly and quickly. Ask them which is the best way to sing it and why.

Repeat the above with nursery rhymes like ‘Tom, Tom, the Piper’s Son’ sung very slowly and quietly, ‘Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star’ sung quickly and loudly or ‘Hickory, Dickory Dock’ sung slowly.
