  Background noise

Some people like background music whilst they are working.

If you find it soothing, make sure it is not loud - otherwise it will distract you.

But you will concentrate better without background music.

Radio programmes with people talking should be avoided, because they will distract you too.

It really is impossible to concentrate on studying whilst watching television.

Any form of television, even in the background, should be completely avoided.

Don't even attempt to revise in a room where a television set is switched on.

Go somewhere else - your bedroom, or the library.
