  Memorising information

Don't imagine that revision is a matter of memorising possible answers.

Understanding ideas, knowing how to deal with information, and having a general grasp of the subject are far more important.

Remember - the exam will be testing what you know about your subject.

If you do need to memorise facts, use the best methods for the job:

  • wall charts and maps
  • portable index cards
  • audio tapes
  • one-page summaries

Memorise as much as you can - but don't make a big thing of it.

Learn the basics of your subject - such as names, dates, formulas, equations - but after that you should concentrate on its general themes and topics.
