| Misunderstanding the point
All the key parts of your answer might be correct - but you have misunderstood what's required in dealing with them. Your response mentions the topics, but doesn't answer the question. This is an example of not getting to the main issue of the question. Example QUESTION: "Discuss the importance of Newton as a mathematician and scientist" An answer might include a biographical account of Newton's life, apples falling from trees, and his interests in physics, optics, and mechanics. But the key term 'importance' has been ignored or taken for granted. The question requires an explanation of why his theories and discoveries were significant. A better answer would discuss the effect of his theories and his influence on other scientists. Solution Read the question very carefully. Identify the key terms and instruction terms. Ask yourself "What is the main issue?" |
