How do meanders form? | ||||||
|
Meanders As
the river reaches it lower stages and the valley begins to widen out,
vertical erosion is less important and the river starts to erode the
sides of its channel, especially on the outside of bends. The force
of the water undercuts the bank on the outside of a bend to form a steep
bank to the channel, called a river cliff. |
