Feeding relationships

Every living thing needs energy to live. Animals get this energy from eating. Plants are really amazing and can actually make the food that they need using light energy from the sun, water and carbon dioxide, a gas in the air.

Scientists use some strange words to describe how different organisms get their food energy.

Prey = An animal that gets hunted and eaten
Carnivore = An animal that eats other animals
Herbivore = An animal that eats plant material
Producer = A plant that makes its own food

Can you match up the scientific names with their descriptions?
You will be told when you have matched them all correctly.
